Invisalign Braces in Blyth Nottinghamshire
Straighter teeth for a beautiful smile!
Most people would accept that a great looking smile requires teeth that are straight and even and just a single crooked tooth can detract from an otherwise attractive appearance. It is also worth noting that straight teeth are easier to keep clean and are more likely to be healthy than uneven teeth where food easily becomes trapped.
Some people avoid teeth straightening because they don’t want to wear dental braces which traditionally have been made from a highly visible metal. Sometimes braces also have to be worn for a significant period of time and so the reluctance to wear them is not surprising.
The good news is that the team at Ice Dental and Implant Centre can straighten your teeth using modern, comfortable and discreet orthodontic systems, an excellent alternative to the ‘train-track’ braces of old!
Unlike many other types of orthodontics, Invisalign abandons the use of wires and brackets altogether. Not only does this make for a more comfortable experience, but Invisalign can also be removed when eating food or cleaning teeth; so no more awkward eating with food getting stuck in the braces. You can also carry on with your usual brushing and flossing routine to keep your teeth and gums nice and healthy.
To replace the wires and brackets, Invisalign uses a series of transparent medical grade plastic ‘trays’ that sit directly over the teeth. These are made from impressions that are taken of your own teeth at the start of your treatment. Each tray is designed to be worn for a week or two before being replaced by the next in the series. Each tray helps to progressively and gently move your teeth towards the desired position.
This convenient and almost invisible orthodontic system is becoming increasingly popular with our patients and we’ll be pleased to discuss the benefits if you are unhappy with crooked and uneven teeth.
Clear Correct is another system which uses clear straightening aligners in a similar way to Invisalign. As with many dental treatments, there are differences which may have advantages or disadvantages for different patients. We will discuss both Invisalign and Clear Correct with you at your consultation so that the most appropriate treatment can be used to straighten your teeth.
